The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has revealed its annual report regarding estimated mobile phone users in Pakistan, which has crossed 91 percent of the total population. As per the report released by PTA, Pakistan’s telecom sector has generated PKR 955 billion during the fiscal year 2023-24.

According to the PTA report, telecom services are covered by almost 91%, and 4G services in Pakistan cover 81% of the population of the country. Furthermore, according to 2024 stats, telecom subscribers in Pakistan have reached 196 million, and broadband users in Pakistan increased from 127.6 million to 142.3 million. Meanwhile, the mobile internet speed also increased in Pakistan by 28%.

According to the report, internet speed in Pakistan has improved from 15.65% Mbps to 20.02 Mbps, along with a substantial surge in mobile data usage of 24.2%. The broadband access improved from 53.6& to 58.4%, and 29.6 million mobile devices were manufactured locally during the year 2024.

Unfortunately, to defeat Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf on social media, in the past two years the telecom sector and freelancers in Pakistan have suffered financial losses due to government restrictions on the Internet. During this period, the federal government suffered financial losses, which had a devastating effect on Pakistan’s economy, and the military establishment suffered moral decay.
