The annual exams of 9th and 10th grades organized by the Board of Secondary Education Karachi have begun in Karachi today. 375,000 students are appearing for the exams, while computerized online admit cards have been issued to all students.
The process of distributing necessary examination materials during the annual exams is also underway, under which board officers are delivering examination papers to hub centers. Center control officers will deliver these papers to the respective examination centers, and all these officers will be present at the centers during the examination.
A total of 499 examination centers have been established for the 375,000 students participating in the exams, of which 256 centers are reserved for boys and 243 centers for girls. These centers have been established in 18 different towns of the city.
During the annual exams, students have been warned not to bring mobile phones with them, as in case of violation, the mobile phone will be confiscated. The education board has written letters to the relevant institutions to implement Section 144 around the examination centers; a ban has been imposed on external interference at the centers; and photostat machines have been closed during the exam.
The board has established a reporting cell to monitor the annual exams, and special teams have been formed to prevent cheating. The board staff will conduct complete monitoring during the annual exams, and a report will be compiled on a daily basis and submitted to the reporting cell. The board has also made a written request to the K-Electric administration to ensure that there is no load shedding during the annual exams.
The board office has issued online admit cards and a list of examination centers, and vigilance teams will visit the examination centers on a daily basis. Some schools had also requested to change the examination centers, which have been approved by the examination director. These schools have been informed that the list of new examination centers has been uploaded on the official website of the board.
According to the BOL News reporter, the board is also providing the facility to the students so that the candidates who are not able to reach their examination center before the time can reach the center at their convenience.
According to the examination schedule, the 10th class Computer Studies paper will be taken in the morning shift while the General Science paper will be taken in the afternoon shift, which will be of three hours duration.
