The Prime Minister of Form 47, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, announced that the benefits of dropping crude oil prices at the global level would be conveyed to the public and also indicated a further reduction in electricity prices.
According to the BOL News report on Monday, an important meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister on reforms in the maritime sector, in which Shehbaz Sharif said that just as the benefits of falling crude oil prices were first conveyed by reducing electricity prices, similarly, the benefits of the current major reduction will also be conveyed to the public.
The Prime Minister said that various proposals are being considered, attention is being paid to reforms to further reduce electricity prices, and better results will be achieved in the coming months.
In addition, the prime minister said that reforms in the energy sector have made it possible to reduce electricity prices, a task force for sustainable reforms in the maritime sector is active, and work is underway on reforms to end the stagnation in the maritime economy.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the global economy is linked to marine resources and access to them and directed that trade tariffs be reviewed to make ports competitive and that the customs clearance process be accelerated in red and yellow channels.
The Prime Minister also directed that a plan be developed to reduce the duration of container presence at ports. It should be noted that crude oil prices in the global market have decreased by another 2 to 3 percent.
Before that, in the last, Shehbaz Sharif had announced a major reduction in electricity prices, which has been denied by Dawn News. The PM was reduced by PKR 7.15 per unit of electricity prices for domestic consumers and PKR 8.58 per unit for commercial consumers.
According to the report, after the decline in crude oil prices, British crude oil has reached the level of $64 per barrel, and American crude oil WT oil is being sold at $60 per barrel.
