Pakistan’s most favorite cricketer, former Prime Minister and Chairman Pakistan Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan will not appear before the ECP in contempt due to the security measures spoken by the Interior Ministry.
ECP has issued a production order for former PM Imran Khan, in case of using unparliamentary language against the Chief Election Commissioner and the Election Commission.
The Election Commission of Pakistan wanted Khan to be produced before the commission on (October 24), but things did not go as planned after the Interior Ministry and the police expressed high-security concerns about Imran Khan’s life.
The report issued by the interior ministry mentioned risk alerts linked to Adiala Jail and Imran Khan’s appearance at the Election Commission of Pakistan.
The Secretary ECP stated that the Election Commission staff would go to the Adiala Jail for the case proceeding, but the CEC also raised security concerns with the Election Commission of Pakistan itself.
The CEC demanded the Interior Ministry provide paramilitary forces for the presence of the PTI Chairman at the ECP. Following the exchange of views over security concerns, the Election Commission summoned the Interior Secretary to the next hearing and postponed the hearing until November 13 of this year.
