Expo City Dubai has introduced an innovative film festival centered around Artificial Intelligence (AI), with a primary focus on exploring its applications in creative storytelling and filmmaking.
According to the Emirates News Agency, this ground-breaking event, known as the Artificial Intelligence Film Festival (AIFF), debuted in the region and will last about six months.
The AIFF is a multifaceted festival that comprises a range of captivating components, including an international competition, film screenings, engaging panel discussions featuring AI experts and filmmakers, and insightful workshops aimed at shedding light on the seamless integration of AI within the film production process.
The official launch of the film competition took place on a Tuesday, welcoming submissions from seasoned industry professionals and aspiring amateur filmmakers who wish to incorporate AI-generated content into their short films.
The moment of revelation for the competition winners is eagerly anticipated during an awards ceremony on February 29th of the following year.
Marjan Faraidooni, Chief of Education and Culture at Expo City Dubai, expressed her perspective on the AIFF, emphasizing that it represents the first of numerous forthcoming initiatives.
The core objective of the festival is to delve into the dynamic relationship between creativity and technology, as well as the intricate interplay between human creativity and the capabilities of artificial intelligence.
