Regal Automobile (DFSK) is gearing up to introduce an electric car in Pakistan, i.e., the inaugural battery electric vehicle (BEV), the Series 3, to the Pakistani market in mid-October 2023. According to an official announcement, the Series 3 will debut as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) unit, priced at Rs. 11.8 million.
Prospective buyers must make an initial booking deposit of Rs. 5,000,000, with an estimated delivery timeframe of 90 days. This electric vehicle boasts a 49.34 kWh battery, enabling it to travel an impressive distance of over 400 kilometers on a single charge.
Subsequently, Regal Automobile plans to introduce the Series 3 as a locally assembled Electric Car in Pakistan, with a reduced price tag of Rs. 9.6 million and a booking fee of Rs. 3 million. The tentative launch date for the locally assembled model is March 2024. Notably, the locally assembled Series 3 will retain the same powertrain as the CBU version.
The DFSK Series 3 will enter the market to compete primarily with the MG ZS EV, without any direct competitors in its category. As a fully electric vehicle, the Series 3 boasts commendable power, with its electric motor delivering 160 horsepower and 300 Newton-meters of torque.
The Series 3 also boasts various advanced features, including driver-assistance systems such as lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and autonomous emergency braking. The Series 3, priced at over Rs. 1 crore, will likely appeal to a relatively small niche of discerning car buyers.
