Sports Cape Town: South Africa has named its 15-man squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka to be played in February. Aiden Markram will captain the side.
Kagiso Rabada is also back in the squad after being out for close to 10 weeks due to injury. But Tristan Stubbs who is a regular team member did not make the cut for World Cup.
The South African squad includes:
Aiden Markram (captain), Quinton de Kock, David Miller, Keshav Maharaj, Marco Jansen, Anrich Nortje, Lungi Ngidi, Kagiso Rabada. The likely XI for South Africa is: Temba Bavuma, Jason Smith, Corbin Bosch, Kwaya Mafaka, George Linde, Donovan Ferreira.
The ICC T20 World Cup gets underway on 7 February, with South Africa in Group D.
Cricket Australia yesterday unveiled its preliminary squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, confirming key returnees Pat Cummins, Cameron Green and Cooper Connolly.
The trio were injured and had not featured in the recent series against India, giving the team a massive fillip before the world event.
Selection chief George Bailey said Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Tim David are now all fit and should be available for the World Cup. This is an initial squad, and additions can be made during the preparatory period if required, he added.
The star-studded squad includes skipper Mitchell Marsh, Xavier Bartlett, Cooper Connolly, Nathan Ellis, Pat Cummins, Tim David, Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Matthew Kuhnemann, Glenn Maxwell, Matthew Short, Marcus Stoinis, and Adam Zampa.
Bailey also said the squad for Australia’s three T20s against Pakistan will be named at a later date.
