The Department of Special Education, Punjab, has announced another weekly off day for special education institutions in the province. In an official order, it has been stated that all the schools & training centers for differently-abled will now also be closed on Saturdays, along with their regular Sunday closure.
The copy of the notification has been forwarded to all the DMs and CDOs by the department for its strict implementation.
The decision was based on the belief that the move would be a relief of sorts and also more convenient for students and staff, since it afforded them more rest time as well as something to eat before entering examination halls. The new policy will begin next week.
Special education schools in Punjab will now instead function five days a week, replacing the earlier schedule, which saw classes on Saturdays as well.
